WEEKLY UPDATE!

Just came from my weight watchers meeting - down 2 lbs. Even after pigging out and not exercising at Amy's this past weekend. Good thing for my treadmill!!! That is a total of 9.6lbs - that is equivilent to about 39 sticks of butter!!!!!! GROSS

Gotta Love FREE on Craigslist

so we had this disgusting old refrigerator rotting on our back yard since last fall - waiting for a trip to the dump, but with no pick-up truck, how do we get it there? So finally last night I came up with a genius idea! I posted this ad on Craigslist:

Boot Camp Workout

I WHIMPED OUT!! I got scared I wouldn't be able to handle it, so I opted for a 20 minute warm up walk and then and hour "cardio caliente" (that means hot in spanish for anyone who needs a translation). It was an intense latin music dance and cardio work out, similiar to zumba. One thing I knew and was confirmed..... I HAVE NO RHYTHM!! But everyone was very kind, and I still got a great workout! OUCHIE! Will see if it pays off come Friday weigh in.... keep posted!

Working on a New Me!

Ok, so two weeks ago I joined weight watchers in the hopes that I can slim myself down a bit. So far the sucess has been quick and great - 6.2lbs in 2 weeks. I have finally realized that no matter how well I eat, if I don't add exercise into the mix, I will get nowhere. So Kaelyn, Maddie and I joined the YMCA. (Brian, BY and Jenna are joined also, but the young ones I can MAKE come with me - suckas!). So tonight is my first class and I chose "boot camp". My ever supportive sister warned me "you might die". So if this is my last post, you know I couldn't handle it.
I figured if I post about my sucess/failure I will be accountable to all who read so it might help keep me motivated.... WISH ME LUCK!

The season is back! Thank God

Well, the season of buying and selling is back in full swing. Winter is really slow, and it's slim pickin's out there. This time of year people are spring cleaning and having yard sales. Latest hot find was this porcelain cat. Paid $5 and sold it for $60 - Mewow!!!!!!

so, last night I made a nice dinner for my family... steak, flavored rice, creamed corn and flaky layer biscuits!! Yum! WELL let me tell you, those biscuits should come with a warning label. The thing literally EXPLODED! Landed on the floor at least 4 feet from the table, even in Maddie's hair. It was hysterical!!!!!

So, this is a long weekend from school - President's weekend - the girls have off Friday and Monday, so they get to do their Valentine exchange today. I sent them to go get dressed in "something red" and this is what they came up with.......

Blizzard of 2010 - Snow Day for All!

Snow Day For All - The gallery closed, Pine Bush Schools Closed, Brian Called Into Work - all awaiting the big blizzard of 2010. So at 10am we headed outside for some good old-fashioned playing in the snow. Brian used the snowblower to clean the driveway and attack us with flying snow, then we all worked together to build an igloo/fort. We kind of ran out of snow and decided to go inside (12pm) to warm up and wait for more snow to come..... NO MORE SNOW CAME! No blizzard of 2010 was coming to the burg! So it is now 6pm and Brian and the girls went back out to work on the fort in the dark...... I LOVE SNOW DAYS!!!

So.... this year Kaelyn and Maddie thought they were hot stuff..... they wanted to stay up until Midnight and watch the ball drop. Maddie made it last year, Kaelyn didn't. The little rats wouldn't let the old people go to sleep. I tried to explain to them, we have seen the same ball drop many times, all we wanted to see was the back of our eyelids......

Well... guess who didn't make it!! Kaelyn made it to about 11 or so, Maddie about 11:15. I was dozing the whole time, and Brian was the only one to truely make it!! I woke up at 11:40 to see this....

Can You Save A Life??

I am not a doctor who can perform life saving surgery, I am not a scientist who can find cures, I am not an EMT who's quick actions at a accident make all the difference in the world, I am not a nurse who can heal wounds. I am just a mom, a normal person.......... but I may have saved a life yesterday..... I donated blood. It's a simple thing that most anyone can do, and it really does save lives.... 30 minutes out of your day is worth saving someone's mother, father, or child! Please consider it!

A Magical Christmas

Christmas morning Brian, the girls and I met my parents at Grandma O's new home in Elant in Newburgh. We dropped off a gift, said Merry Christmas to her and the girls showed off their new gifts they got. Then we hopped in the car and headed to CT to see Amy and John. I did not take any pics at Amy's - she takes care of that! Our best gift of the year was our big news we got - IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! I will have a niece!! (Brian is still holding out hope that the Dr's are wrong.)

2009 was a wonderful Christmas!!! Kaelyn and Maddie each got their much desired Ipod Touch. Brian got Xbox 360, Jenna got a great new digital camera, BY got a Netflix year subscription and I got the most amazing, heartfelt, handmade with love coupon book.......

Teachers Really Do That??????

Maddie just came home, Proud as a Peacock, wearing her new scarf.... THAT HER TEACHER MADE HER!!!! Her teacher apparantly made one for every student!! Wow!

Snowman Diorama Project

Well.... Pine Bush School District seem to think parents don't have enough to do at this busy time of year - so Kaelyn came home with her latest project... "Make a diorama of a snowman looking into a window - what does he see". So off we go to our beloved dollar store and we actually had a really fun time putting it together. With help from Mom and Maddie - Kaelyn might just have the best in the class (if I do say so myself). The little Christmas tree even lights up! How cute! She even made stockings to hang from the fireplace. Real wallpaper is on the walls and even a cozy rug in front of the fire! OH and look at all the presents neatly wrapped under the tree!! The "window" slides in and out so Kaelyn can turn the tree on and off! Fun Fun Fun - too bad all the projects weren't like this!

Vermont Getaway!

This past weekend was our first trip to VT as a family. Amy and John go every year and this year they invited us to join them......

Morning 1 - no snow in sight - so much for our winter wonderland getaway and sleigh rides!
We took a nice drive Saturday morning to see what Brattleboro had in store for us - the answer was NOTHING! Other than a cheese factory... but we stopped along the road for a photo op.

Saturday turned into our winter wonderland - I think Brian saw 3 snowflakes drop and he said "can we go outside and play not" so we got suited up and headed outside!

You know how cold it is to get snow in the face?? - Kaelyn does!

We stayed in Saturday night due to the storm - Sunday was a lazy day of football and arts & crafts. Sunday night we went out candlestick bowling and to the arcade! Fun! BTW - 1 guess who won POP-A-SHOT?? That's right - Robyn Renee - Thank you very much!

We stopped at the store to pick up some more supplies for "SMORES INDOORS" as Kaelyn named it. Look at the size of the hershey bar B.Y. is holding then look at the same bar in Maddie's arms! FUNNY!

After Dropping off B.Y. an Jenna at home we stopped and picked out our Christmas Tree and of course posed for some more pics!

All in All - A fun trip, a nice weekend, a great family!!
